Year 4 have been continuing to enjoy their muddy maths lessons outside. So far this term we have been drawing factor pair rainbows as well as going on a 2d shape hunt around the KS1 and KS2 playgrounds. We have also been keeping fit by practising our times tables whilst doing star jumps, jumping jacks, marches etc.
During science week we went on an insect hunt around the school grounds to have a look at the diversity of creatures we could find. We looked closely at where we found them and what sort of habitat they were in. After completing some research on a chosen insect, we designed our own bug houses, thinking carefully about any special features our insect house might have. Finally year 4 had a brilliant time making their bug houses in the area of their choice, making sure it suited the needs of their minibeasts; they were really creative and added all sorts of extras. Hopefully there will be lots of happy creatures living in them before too long!
Year 4 worked really hard on these portraits. They planned their design first, then we took their photo and finally (after technical server difficulties!) got to finish them. They are on display in the classroom, but not knowing when we'll get to be back in school I wanted to show you a few of them. I think they are brilliant!
