Reading Reading at home is crucial. Children should read for 15 minutes each night - this can be either their home reader of a book of their own choice. This will be more productive if it is carried out in a calm, quiet environment. We are working on building independence with selecting books.
Homework Topic based Homework Grid for the Autumn and Spring Terms. This will change in the Summer Term to an Individual Project handed in at a given date.
Spellings Will be set weekly - Please see Spelling Shed for Spellings Lists and Interactive Games.
The Government has announced that all Year 4 children will now sit a multiplication tables check. This is to ensure all 8 and 9 year olds have learnt their 12 times tables. To prepare for this, it is essential that pupils have their 2, 5, 10, 3 and 4 times tables learnt by Christmas. Please see Times Table Rock Stars for Times Tables to practice. We will do a times table test every Friday.
PE PE lessons take place on a Wednesday afternoon every week. All children are expected to take part in a full PE kit and trainers/pumps. For Health and Safety reasons earrings can not be worn during any PE lesson.
Please see the 'Meet the Teacher Leaflet 2020 - 2021' and 'Meet the Teacher PowerPoint 2020-2021' for more information.
