Dedication service for Sarah Pendle

Following Mrs Sarah Pendle's appointment as head teacher at St Andrew's C of E Primary School, Buckland Monachorum, a dedication service was held at St Andrew's Church on 1st October 2009. It was a very moving service with contributions from the whole school community.

Richard Maudsley from the diocese of Exeter gave a talk and a blessing during the service. The children sang beautifully and were a credit to Mrs Pendle and the school. The service sheet was designed by year 6. A celebration tea prepared by the school PTA followed in the school hall. We continue to wish Mrs Pendle success and happiness in her role as head teacher at St Andrew's.

Mrs Pendle said 'It was a very moving and uplifting service. I look forward to working along side everyone in the whole school community to make sure we can do the very best for all our pupils. Many thanks to everyone who made it such a lovely day.'

Each class presented Mrs Pendle with a 'petal' to make a flower with messages from the children.
