Educational Visits & Residential Visits

Our school enriches the curriculum and learning experiences for children through organising visitors and class day educational visits as well as residential visits related to study themes. Proposed visits are outlined at the beginning of the year in the Class Information Leaflets.

There are separate meetings for parents to discuss residential visits with Class teachers. Details and costs of these visits are sent to parents before each trip with a reply slip. The viability of all these visits is dependent on parental support. They are usually financed by voluntary contributions but no child is excluded because of parents’ inability to contribute. However visits are unlikely to take place if there is insufficient support. The Headteacher is always available to discuss payment difficulties for such visits with parents. The Governing Body’s Charging and Remissions policy is available from the school office.

Residential Visits:

Year 4 Heatree House Christian Outdoor Activity Centre, Devon (3 days)
Year 5 Treloyan Manor, St Ives, Cornwall (5 days)
Year 6 Ironbridge (5 days)

Children regularly visit the Parish Church and local facilities, including the Community Orchard, Buckland Abbey, visits and exploration of Dartmoor National Park and Tavistock.
