Smiley Club Autumn 2010
This term at Smiley Club we have been very busy.
We began the term by telling everyone about our summer holiday. Some children brought in new toys, photographs and books.
With the dry weather we were able to use the school playing field to improve our football skills.
The pond in the school environmental area gave us lots to find and identify. We made sure the insects were put back in their habitat.
Recycling was a great way to make some wonderful junk models.
When we made our fruit salad we all had to eat a piece of fruit which was new to us. We learnt where the different fruits grew and where to find the places on a world map.
Just before the 5th November we learnt about ‘Keeping Safe on Bonfire Night’. We then made posters which we placed round the school to remind all the children how to keep safe.
With a partner we made mini Christmas cakes – there was a lot of chopping, measuring and mixing. The following week we marzipan and decorated our cakes. We took them home for our families to enjoy.
