A Midsummer Night's Dream
On Wednesday 20th October, the last day of school before half term for St Andrews Primary School, a version of Shakespeare’s classic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” was adapted and performed by Year 6.
There were two performances to an audience. One of them was at 2pm and was for all the pupils from the school, and the one for parents and any other adults was at 6.30pm the same day.
A member of the audience said ”It was an outstanding production; I thoroughly enjoyed the singing and the dancing”. Her son, who played Oberon, said “We had a fabulous time performing it, and seeing the audience’s reaction felt great!”
The play wasn’t just performed by Year 6, they also made all the lovely costumes and scenery, wrote their own version of the script and created the dances. They couldn’t have done it alone, though, so an effort was made to give a big thank you to all the teachers and parents who helped make the performance what it was.
