Clean Your Hands Poster Competition Winners
Our trip to Derriford Hospital
On Friday 6th January 2012 Toby and Adam got a letter about a germ poster competition that Year 5 had entered for Derriford Hospital – we had won!
On Tuesday 10th January 2012, we left school at 10:30am and Toby’s mum came to drive us to Derriford Hospital.
About 11.00am we arrived at Derriford Hospital. As soon as we entered we saw a board which had our names on it. We also saw the posters we made and Adam came 1st, Felix was 2nd and Toby was 3rd. Then we met Jan, Jackie and Paul Mcardle to take our photo for Tavistock Times and The Herald. Then another photographer came in and then Jackie and Jan showed us our posters. We then went down a floor (which is level 4) and then through about five corridors, down some stairs and then through 1 more corridor and then Toby’s poster was there and when you wave your hand over it talks to you. Then the photographers took some pictures of Toby and then we went to Adams poster. The same thing happened to Adam but when the photo was about to be taken the poster shouted at Adam.
When all the photos were taken Jan showed us to a little tea party and there was a lot of food. Then we got our prizes, a bag of sweets and an Amazon voucher. Once we had our gifts we tucked into the party food. There was sausage rolls, Jamie dodgers, cup cakes and lots more tasty stuff. Then we said “bye” and “thank you” and then had one more look at our posters on the board and then we left Derriford Hospital. After about 30 minuets later we arrived at school and did a presentation.
