Year 4
Year 4 Easter Assembly
The children had been thinking about how to express feelings in drama, through words, facial expressions and body language. In groups they looked at the various parts of the Easter story and suggested how best to portray the changing emotions of Jesus, his followers and his enemies. They concentrated on this as they wrote and performed the scenes for their Easter play. During the performance their Easter artwork was shown on the overhead screen and added to the mood and feelings of each scene.
After giving a fantastic performance it was time for an adventure! The children and staff set off with their packed lunches and walking shoes, their destination was the school orchard. After eating their picnic lunch came the team challenge, a race to collect all the pieces of their Easter egg and to complete the jigsaw (with a chocolate prize for all!) The rest of the afternoon was spent playing games and enjoying the sunshine of the last day of term.
