Watching the weather

Emily Wood – a weather broadcaster from local television, came to visit Year 2 in September 2010. She came to help with our studies on the weather in and around the UK.

We watched some video of her broadcasting the weather the day before, and then looked at some really interesting pictures of different clouds.

We learnt that there are 10 different types of clouds, all with different names.

There was lots of opportunity to ask questions and she told us how clouds were formed, and talked a little bit about the affects of climate change.

She set us a challenge to create out own cloud shape and give it a name. We spent some time designing and drawing our own clouds.
