Learning together what is good and right. JOB 34: 4
Physical Education usually takes places on a Thursday and a Friday, but as this can change we ask that children have PE kits in school everyday. Please bring PE kit into school on a Monday in a named bag to leave on cloakroom pegs and take them home on a Friday for washing.
Swimming kits must also be in school daily until otherwise stated. If used, these will need to be taken home and a clean dry kit brought in the next day.
Thursday 22nd September Year 6 will be attending the Junior Life Skills event which is held in Tavistock Town Hall. Students will learn how to be good citizens during the event which is completely free. There are usually nine simulated scenarios where the children will be faced with a potential hazard they may encounter in real life. They cover topics including first aid, beach, fire and road safety, healthy lifestyles and basic hygiene. With the help of trained experts they will learn how to recognise the danger, deal with emergencies and be socially responsible. Junior Life Skills, is organised by West Devon Borough Council and the scenarios are set by partner organisations including Devon and Cornwall Police, Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, RNLI and British Red Cross - among others.
We will depart school by coach at 12.30 and return around 3.45 pm.
Monday 12th to Friday 16th June is our residential visit to Ironbridge in Shropshire. We will be staying in the Coalbrookdale Youth Hostel. http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/ironbridge-coalbrookdale
