Wilbur and The Web

All the pupils from St Andrew’s took part in a spectacular whole school performance of the play ‘Wilbur and the Web’.

Pupils, staff and parents prepared costumes, props and scenery. Pupils played instruments, sung, danced and starred in the production as part of the annual enrichment week. Year 6 pupils worked hard moving staging, lighting and scenery. They also designed and made programmes, tickets and posters advertising the play. The PTA also had help from year 6 when they sold refreshments of summer punch and strawberries during the evening performances. A raffle by year 6 took place over the two evenings when £165.70 was raised for the school’s charity – the rebuilding of Nampula’s school.

Evening performances were sold out on both Wednesday 11 th and Thursday 12 th July as parents, grandparents and friends were dazzled by the talented youngsters.

The production starred Florence as Charlotte the spider and Jonathan as Wilbur.

Each class also designed and made scarecrows to decorate the school. The creations included a brilliantly lifelike Mrs Trenchball, a seaside scarecrow, a scary Viking, a farmer, an Egyptian, a Dingle Dangle scarecrow and a Mr Goode look alike!

In class the pupils enjoyed playing team games such as giant puzzles irrigation game and find your way to the farm.
