Introduction to Project

The project has currently three schools involved within the project. One of the project schools is Sellanra School,  Molde,  Norway is from the Romsdal region of Norway. The second school St. Francis Elementary School is from the Rhine region of the country. The third school St. Andrew's School is from the United Kingdom.

The schools are working on this collaborative project to look carefully at the problems of identifying pupils who have learning difficulties especially in relation to working within a an integrated learning environment where there will be a cross section of ability working together within one classroom or group setting.

The problem of being tackled is one of successfully integrating pupils into a classroom environment which also caters for their specific learning difficulties and where their behaviour has to undergo some modification or adjustment.

By looking at the ways in which these pupils are currently identified and the methods in operation within schools in differing education and cultural settings it is hoped that the teachers will be able to learn from each other and later work towards some common patterns in terms of early identification leading to techniques for a successful inclusion strategy within mainstream education.
